Chop Wood Carry Water Plant Seeds is a blog about Self-Sufficient Homesteading. How can we live by creating a sustainable bio-diverse world, instead of by consuming and destroying the only one we have? What kind of teaching have you got if you exclude nature?

Top Bar Hive Floor Done

observation windows, inside
the roof
It is possible to take out the floor completely for cleaning
It is possible to open the door a bit so the hive gets better ventilation during the summer and this will make varroa count possible with a white sheet applied to the floor bottom
Summer floor is open a bit
winter floor is closed completely
observation windows are awaiting the door to close them down. Bees prefer dark
The net floor is in place. When Varroa mites fall down they will fall through the mesh floor out of the hive. This net keeps the bees in when the wooden floor is open during the summer time.
Handy way of locking the floor in two positions (winter and summer)
