Mouse Guard for Top Bar Hive

The mouse guard is needed during the winter time when bees are "hibernating" (slow down) and the normal entrance is big enough for the mouse to get through into the hive and steal the honey. This mouse guard has 4 holes which are 7mm wide, enough for the bees to get in and out in the winter to perform the cleansing flight. The guard is held in place by two screws (easy to take off)

...photo without the mouse guard (mouse guard attached above the entrance not to get lost)

  1. Nice little drawings on your mouse guard. I use a piece of rabbit cage. But I do like your wooden mouse guard!

Mouse guard is essential practice for the safety of bees..design mentioned above is safe for bees especially the holes designed helps bees to pass into without any damage..I would also try this & hope so it will work.
